Family Compact

I came home last week and Sena had something for me to sign, written in her neatest handwriting- a family compact based on the one the Pilgrim's signed at Plymouth.
I have never enjoyed signing a contract so much before.

  1. We agree to always show respect to each other.
  2. We agree to allow Gus to win in arm wrestling.
  3. We agree to eat Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner together.
  4. We agree to pray each day. We agree to pray for each other.
  5. We agree to forgive each other quickly and completely.
  6. We agree to bathe "occasionally."
That's a list I can stand behind.

The Words of Sena R. W.- Happy Birthday, Daddy

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the best daddy in the world!I always said that, like most kids, but I am not kidding. He is the best dad any kid could have because:he reads to me every night, he plays music with me every time I want, he wrestles with me an my brother, he spends his vacation digging holes for us, he always swims an races with us, he plays with us.

He really deserves all these capitals and ! marks!

I hope the presents me and my mom got he loves! I hope his birthday party is great. It's coming up soon!

I just want him to know how much I love him. I wish him the greatest birthday ever! I know it sounds like a bunch of "love" and "best" an that type of word but it is true, that is what I think, and I love him.

Excuse the laser eye picture- just wanted a picture of us doing what we love.

The Words of Sena R. W./ 02

Sena's long awaited second column. Here are her thoughts on moving.

To me moving has a positive and a negative. The positive is new friends, and bigger bedroom since most of the time my bedroom is as little as a walk-in closet. The negative is not being so close to my Oma and not being allowed to play in the old house yard once we move. I guess it's just superbittersweet, if that was a word.

Memories from our house:
  • me being raised there from 0-8
  • my brother Gus being raised there from 0-6
  • my brother Arlo being raised there from 0- 7 months
  • mom and daddy's first house
  • so many parties
  • my first steps
  • my first sleepover
  • Gus's first sleepover
  • all my birthdays
  • all Gus's birthdays

The Words of Sena R. W. / 01

Sena, who just might be the number one supporter of this here blog, has asked to have her own column.  I am happy to oblige.

This is how I  feel about being a big sister for 6 years.
At first my mom told me she was having a baby and I was very jealous. She got me  a Dora backpack and I was fine enough. Now I love my brother Gus so much! A couple of years later he's playing Skylanders with me and we say we are best friends. Five years later she tells me "I'm having a baby." This time I wasn't jealous. I was so happy. When I heard I he was a boy, I was sad, but I still love him. 9 Months of waiting and Arlo was finally here! I love him and my family even more and I'm probably going to play with Arlo too.
